Lost Legion
I thought I'd list the small task force of marines I'd built for our groups upcoming Thunderhawk Down games(which will occur after the Warmasters Challange). I built them out of all those bits you end up collecting over the years.
My background for them was that they were "leftovers" from the Istvann III cleansing, where the "loyal" elements of the traitor legions were purged prior to the Dropsite Massacres. The story indicates that hidden, underground complexes existed on Istvann that housed starships, and I imagine that my guys were able to board one of them and escape that planet after Horus and his traitors had left the Istvann system for Terra. These remaining forces are left to fend for themselves, often being hunted by the Imperium and fighting against Chaos marines, traitors, ect. They're kinda like pirates, but not murderously evil like the Red Corsairs. Regardless, I'll probibly flesh out more of their origins later, but here is my starting list:
Hero- Sergeant Lucius Vorenus, 11th Company, Emperor’s Children Legion
Noise Marine Champion- 120pts + 105 = 225 pts
Bolt pistol, frag and krak grenades, sonic blaster(+30), power weapon(+75)
Hero- Titus Pullo, 11th Company Champion, Emperor’s Children Legion
Chosen Champion- 120pts
Chosen w/ bolt pistol, close combat weapon, frag and krak grenades, bolter
Henchmen- 4th Company, Death Guard Legion
Chosen Mairnes(2)- 180 pts + 100 = 280pts
Gaius w/ bolt pistol, close combat weapon, frag and krak grenades, heavy bolter(+100)
Marcus w/ bolt pistol, close combat weapon, frag and krak grenades, bolter
Henchmen- Caphlen, 16th Assault Company, World Eaters Legion
Raptor- 100pts
Bolt pistol, close combat weapon, frag and krak grenades, jump pack
Credits Remaining- 0
Total Mass Points = 7/12
Wargear- Medipacks(2)
Down the road I'd like to add an aspiring sorcerer hero, who would represent a Thousand Sons librarian who joins up with them in the Istvaan system, allowing them to navigate the warp. Will give me a chance to model some "outdated armour" and other crusade/heresy era items. I went with the chaos list as it is closest to how marines fought in that era, and give an excellent wargear package for my guys to start with. My "noise marine" hero is more of a normal emperor's children, though likely underwent some surgery by Fabius Bile prior to Istvann, so he's a little quicker than normal marines, ect.
Great work on the ruleset Nate and Co. Really looking forward to getting into this.
